Q:  Why should I have my air ducts cleaned?

A:  All the air you breathe in your home travels through the air ducts.  Dust, cobwebs, dust mites, bacteria and mold, to name a few things, build up on the inside walls of your ducts.  This produces a very unhealthy environment, often triggering asthma and allergies, not to mention the additional strain it puts on the air blower.  If left untreated, at the very least, increases your energy bill and, at the worst, can develop serious health problems and cause expensive repairs to your heating/air conditioning system.  Take a look at this comparison picture to really see why -> Picture.

Q:  Will I save money on my energy bill?

A:  YES.  By removing obstructions and restrictions from your air ducts, the air flows more easily, reducing the strain on the air blower.  This allows the heater/air conditioner to maintain the temperature more easily, reducing the time the unit operates.  All of these combine to lower your energy bill.

Q:  Will air duct cleaning improve the airflow of my heater/air conditioner?

A:  YES.  Dust buildup can be several inches thick.  This causes friction, slowing down the airflow and increasing the workload of the air blower.  Because the airflow is reduced, the blower also has to work longer to maintain the set temperature.

Q:  Is the cleaning process a messy procedure?

A:  NO.  With our exclusive Power Vac truck system, a powerful negative pressure (vacuum) is created through the entire ducting, eliminating any risk of dust escaping into another room.  Remember, our vacuum unit is outside.

Q:  Do you have to cut access holes into my air ducts?

A:  NO.  As you can see in the virtual tour pictures, there are several ways to gain access without cutting holes.  Your home or ducting system will not be damaged in any way.

Q:  Are you insured, bonded and have Workman's Comp?

A:  DEFINITELY.  We have our certificates available upon request.

Q:  How long does it take to clean the ducts?

A:  Since every job is different as to the levels of dust, set up time and size of the home, it is difficult to set time frames.  This question is best answered once we have performed a thorough evaluation of your home.

Q:  How do you clean the air ducts?

Q:  How can I keep the dust from building up again?

A:  There are many ways to keep the dust from building up again within your ducting system.  A few of these include:

Make sure your clothes dryer vent hose doesn't have any leaks - leaks means dust

Change your air filters at least twice a year - in the spring and fall

If you are installing new drywall, sanding floors or doing anything that creates dust, shut off

the air conditioning system.  This keeps the dust out of the ducting system.

Keep cat litter boxes away from air intakes

Keeps doors and windows closed on dry days when the wind is blowing large amounts of dust

If you suffer from allergies or asthma, you may consider investing in a supplemental filtering

system, such as HEPA, or any one of the other fine systems available

       Don't live near volcanic ash

Q:  Is there anything else I should know?

A:  Before considering the job complete, we will perform a number of safety inspections and convenience tasks.  This will include ensuring the pilot flame on your heater is operating properly and changing the air filters on your system free of charge.  If there are any questions we haven't answered here, give us a call -> CONTACT US.
